SWEETHEART OF THE RODEO is a pop-up shop that curates a collection of second-hand vintage and vintage-inspired western shirts, jackets, dresses and accessories from Calgary, Alberta. Home of the world famous Stampede Exhibition and Rodeo, Calgary is the uncontested epicentre of cowboy culture in Canada.
We specialize in:
- Vintage Plaid shirts (Caravan, Bar-B, etc.) that are made of ultra breathable fabrics that don’t wrinkle. When it comes to these shirts, they really don’t make ’em like they used to.
- Blinged-up Western, Vaquero and Retro rockabilly style shirts with piping, fancy yokes, embroidery, slash pockets and pearl snap buttons.
- Vintage-inspired modern shirts from brands like Panhandle Slim, Rockmount Ranchwear, Wrangler, Levi’s, Roper, and more.
- Bolero ties and classic cowboy slide-ties.
- ANYTHING with a yoke, fringe, and pearl-snap buttons that our style icons would wear (Hank Williams, Emmylou Harris, Hank Snow, Gene Autry, George Jones, Nudie Cohn, Roy Rogers, Gram Parsons, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, etc.)
All shirts have been sourced from thrift stores and estate sales, and have been lovingly laundered and repaired when necessary. We sifted through the rest so you could have the best! Our collection includes items for men and women of all sizes. We’ve tried to include a broad range of styles and eras while also staying true to what we love ourselves.
